Did you have a chance to attend the webinar, “Conducting Real-time Orientation and Safety Meetings Amidst the COVID-19 Crisis”? We received more questions than we had time to answer in the allotted time frame, so our presenter from Luma, Dr. Gina Anderson, has answered them below in this Q&A-style blog post. If you weren’t able to join the live webinar, don’t worry – you can watch it on-demand anytime!
Question: Can you set up groups for a live setting so that people can go into a private group meeting and then come back to the main group meeting?
Answer: Yes! You can set up different group meetings and have break out sessions.
Question: What is the authentication process for students? I know with a webinar it may be a link. What about general access to the platform?
Answer: Typically it is through a username and password that our clients assign to the driver. We do a host of single-sign-on integrations as well to support our clients needs. We find that many clients have different requirements regarding user/student sign on and we try to accommodate any way we can.
Question: What is the cost? Can documents be e-signed from the driver end?
Answer: We price per anticipated usage as a flat rate per month. We audit quarterly.
Question: For carriers that are handling their orientation 100% online, what do they do about road tests, functional capacity testing and physicals?
Answer: Carriers can do video recording for demonstration purposes and upload them to a file drop in Luma. Feedback can be given by the instructor and retest can be done too.
Question: Is the subscription to Luma based on the number of employees participating?
Answer: LumaLive is free with a subscription to the eNugget® platform. It is based on anticipated usage.
Question: Is your ELDT eNuggett solution an approved curriculum by FMCSA?
Answer: Yes, our ELDT content is approved curriculum and our plan is to be integrated with the FMCSA when they are ready to accept training vendors.
Question: Do you have OSHA training available?
Answer: Yes, we currently have several OSHA trainings.
Question: Interesting how we are using technology to provide training. I noticed that your presentation was animated, are your classes animated, also, or do you have professional truck drivers or industry experts in your training videos?
Answer: As a learning company, we understand that different learners have different learning preferences. So we do not have just one type of medium in one type of format. We have a mixture of content mediums that have both actual people and animated images, but the drivers tell us that their preference would be to see actual people and their organizations. We work with industry transportation experts for our subject matter expertise, but
Question: Is there an additional cost for any media we would want to upload?
Answer: No. There is not any limit to media upload or form storage.
Question: Do you have a master list of all topics available?
Answer: Yes, please send an email to info@learnwithluma.com to connect with us and we will send it to you.
